Old School

Situated at the eastern end of the renowned market town center of St Ives, stands a historic building constructed in 1844 and masterfully designed by the esteemed architect J.D. Hopkins. Presently, this distinguished structure requires restoration and enhancements in terms of energy efficiency and accessibility. The proposed renovation endeavors to revitalize the storefront by replacing the existing glazing. The new glazing will not only offer improved aesthetics but also facilitate the seamless integration of a ramp, thereby ensuring wheelchair accessibility to the building.

Additionally, by opening up the roof voids, a captivating vaulted ceiling adorned with exposed timber trusses will be created. This transformation will provide a versatile space, ready to be inhabited by a future business, while preserving the building's original character and charm.
